A MESSAGE FROM KRISTIN

Kristin OlsenWelcome!

I started teaching fitness professionally in 1981. Over the past 25 years I've taught (AFAA Certified) cardio fitness, dance, step, and spinning classes. I've enjoyed running, cycling, kick-boxing. and a myriad of other cardio pursuits. However, the chronic pain I experienced from over-use pushed me to look for a new way to challenge and condition my body.

I participated in my first Hatha Yoga class in 1998, but it was the Bikram series that incorporated all five points of fitness (cardio, flexibilty, fat burning, muscle toning, and strength). The 90 minute heated practice is the perfect workout for anyone at any fitness level. Stretch and strengthen your muscles, work your heart and lungs, flush out toxins, and lessen the lactic acid buildup so prevalent in other cardio/strength training endeavors. Thearapeutically enhance every joint, ligament, tendon, muscle, and system via the tourniquette effect unique to Hatha Yoga. The mental focus required provides a meditative effect that calms the mind.

This summer 2016 we bring a wonderful therapeutic cross train to the studio with Inferno Hot Pilates.  Our hot pilates classes compliment the Bikram series perfectly. Two different traditions for two amazing workouts.

You will witness your body transforming in 30 days, season to season, year to year. Becoming healthier, stronger and more flexible is an empowering experience that helps you develop the discipline of a consistent practice and the subsequent benefits.

It's for beginners - you go at your pace. It's for advanced athletes -the challenge is unlimited.

It's also for the hurting. Over the last 15 years I have witnessed people with painful disabilities gain relief, improve their overall health, and have a renewed sense of empowerment.

I invite you to come experience Bikram Yoga  and Inferno Hot Pilates for yourself. As Bikram says, "You're never too fat, you're never too old, never too sick; and, it's never too late to start again from scratch...."

Peace, and always, it is an honor to teach.
